I just love this. I love it every time I read it, and every time I read it I love it more. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Comment? You expect me to comment after that. It'll take me a good hour to get enough breath to comment.
I've yet to read one of your stories that isn't entertaining.

I must tell you that this is by far the best MFU story I have read so far. And I have been sampling a lot. In a sea of often dismal PWP and silly druck (is that a word?),"Masks" shines. The explanation of how they became intimate was refreshingly plausible, and for once, I could actually see how natural it was for them to be together.
The sex scenes explicit without being grossly graphic, inventive and highly erotic (loooved the whisky scene). Oh, and the dialogue spoke true to character. None of that sickly sweet pablum that would never have come out of our boys' mouths. I hate it when Napoleon is reduced to a quivering bottom and Illya is made an unbelievably domineering top. Okay, I guiltily admit to tilting toward Illya being the one to quiver , but then, that's why they call it fiction, right?
Anyway, thanks for a great story. I liked it so much I have saved it to Word.
Best, Sandy

You say they have only been partnered for six months? Can't imagine how the rest of their partnership goes. Guess you'll just have to write it.
Incredible.

Oh bloody hell -- I'm going to have to update my blasted recs page again. Because that is just brilliant on so many levels, I don't know where to start. Beautifully written, scorchingly hot, and *completely* in character, with all the sharp-edged banter and undeniable affection between the guys that is so wonderfully evident in your stories. (Have I mentioned lately how very, very happy I am that you're writing MFU? Consider it carved in stone after this little masterpiece.)

What I love most about this story is how perceptively you understand them: Illya's love of fear and adrenaline and his fierce protection of his heart from wanting too much; Napoleon's need to cover himself, to reveal only the illusion of who he is. Combine that with the most kickass opening I've read in a long time, and you've created a marvelous roller-coaster ride of a story.
